Snurfer Exhibit at MCC Library
Muskegon Community College is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Snurfer’s Invention with an exhibit in the Library from Dec 1 – March 31. The library exhibit features photographs of the World Championship Snurfing competition hosted by MCC, an array of vintage Snurfer boards, clothing and more. Planetarium: Dynamic Earth
The MCC Planetarium will be showing Dynamic Earth a cutting-edge production explores the inner workings of Earth’s climate system: the atmosphere, oceans, and the biosphere. Every Tuesday and Thursday between Jan 13 – Feb 26 and March 10 – April 2 the show will take place at 7 pm.
MLK Unity Day Breakfast
On Jan. 16, 2015 at 7:30 a.m., MCC will host the 19th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast. Each year Muskegon Community College hosts a county-wide breakfast in celebration of the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This event brings students, community leaders, organizations, and local residents together to hear from current freedom activists as they maintain the foundation of Dr. King’s beliefs. Global Awareness Festival
The Global Awareness Festival at Muskegon Community College is a week-long event bringing the world a little closer to Muskegon. It includes lectures, discussions, a film festival, ethnic foods, an information fair, global entertainment, artifact displays, 200 flags, and much more! Overbrook Theater: Angels in America
Considered by many to be one of the greatest American plays of the 20th century, Angels in America is a work of epic proportions in two parts, of which this is the first. Millennium Approaches spans the years of 1985-1986, during the Reagan Administration and the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in New York City. The show will be presented Feb 18 – 21 at 7:30 pm and Feb 22 at 3:00 pm.

The MCC Planetarium will be showing Dawn of the Space Age. Relive the excitement of the early days of space exploration, from the launch of the first artificial satellite sputnik, to the magnificent lunar landings and privately operated space flights. Every Tuesday and Thursday between April 7 – April 23, May 19 – June 11 the show will take place at 7 pm.

MayFest
Join us on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a fun-filled day of free activities and events for kids of all ages. We’ve got a variety of music, performing arts, a health fair to browse, sports activities and exhibits with free goodies. Visitors can purchase food and beverage sponsored by local restaurants.
Mayfest brings together our community’s civic, ethnic, social, and service organizations in a day-long spring festival of activity and cultural enrichment. Its purpose is to invite community residents to enjoy informal family style entertainment and active participation in the unique community college setting.
Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner
The Alumni award dinner will take place on May 5 at 6pm in the Blue & Gold Room.
MCC Commencement
The 2015 MCC Commencement will take place on May 6 at the L.C. Walker Arena.

Mark your calendars! The Foundation for Muskegon Community College 2015 Jayhawk Scramble will increase access to higher education and help local students achieve their dreams.

Hot Jobs Connect
Muskegon Community College in cooperation with Michigan Works and some business partners will present a session on Hot Jobs in Muskegon County. Attendees will hear about high demand jobs, types of training required to attain these jobs as well as possible funding available to get needed training. At the end of the presentations, attendees will be able to visit the various tables to ask speakers specific questions.
