CAD 220 Parametric Design II (Winter 2014) - Student Assembly

CAD 220 Parametric Design II (Winter 2014) – Student Assembly

CAD 220:   Parametric Design II—Assemblies

Prerequisite: CAD 210

This course uses Autodesk Inventor software to develop advanced (3D) part modeling concepts and multiple part assemblies. Rendering and animation fundamentals are also presented.

CAD 220:   Student Projects

In Kathy Liefer’s Winter 2014 class the students were asked to complete an assembly project.   The students had to model all of the parts, assemble those parts, create drawings of each part, create an assembly drawing and create presentation files.

Logan Weesies was a student in the class.  He will graduate with an AAS in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design at the end of the Winter 2015 semester, yet he is already working in the field as a Designer.  He selected the project shown at the right.  Take a look at the video shown below to see his project from start to finish.

 CAD 240:   Product Design

CAD 240 Product Design (Fall 2014) - Cardboard Chairs

CAD 240 Product Design (Fall 2014) – Cardboard Chairs

Prerequisite: CAD 210 or CAD 250
Working as a team, students collaborate to design assigned products. Working and presentation drawings are created, and manufacturing costs, materials, and tolerances are critical requirements.

CAD 240:   Student Projects

In Jeff Johnston’s Fall 2014 class the students were asked to work in teams to design a computer chair, yet there was a catch…  It had to be designed and built with only cardboard and glue. It also had to hold one of the design team members comfortably.  Finally, the students had to present their projects. Instructor Erin Hoffman (full time M.C.C. Art Instructor) served as the guest judge.
