  • Coaching Experience:

    Reeths-Puffer High School and Middle School 20+ years in track and cross country. Whitehall High School three years in cross-country. Coached 20+ All-State individual athletes, Over 30 conference and county team championships.

  • Coaching at MCC:

    Restarted the Jayhawk cross country Program in 2010-2011. Qualified both men's teams and one women's team for the NJCAA nationals. Coached two All-Americans.

  • Married to Kerry Hearns-Smith and live in Whitehall MI. Three Children: Amanda (Learning Director Lincoln Park Zoo), Keaton (Junior at MSU), and Kiera (Senior at Whitehall HS)
