The Muskegon Community College women’s bowling team made the trip to Hew York for the NJCAA National Tournament held at AMF Airport Lanes. The fifth place finish is the highest for the women’s team in school history.
88 women bowlers competed in the “All Events” category (12 games). Jamie Perry (Charles F. Brush/OH) was the top Jayhawk finisher in 17th place. Kendra Schuitema (Ravenna HS) finished 21st and Ashlyn Cross (Mona Shores HS) finished 28th.
In the singles event it was Perry finishing in 7th, Schuitema in 30th and Mady Bacon (Mona Shores HS) in 31st.
In doubles it was the team of Breanna Stroven (Fremont HS) and Cross in 16th place, Perry and Schuitema in 21st place, Abby Lowe (Oakridge HS) and Bacon in 28th place and Shelley Armstrong (Hillcrest HS/S. Caroline) and Megan Wright-Zornes (Reeths-Puffer HS) in 30th place.
Tony Long (Mona Shores HS) was the lone bowlers for the Men’s Team. He finished in 40th place out of 103 bowlers in the All-Events Category.
