The Jayhawks lost a tough game to the Jackson College Jets 88-79.
MCC was led by Daryl Kirkland II (Muskegon HS) who scored 32 points. Dylan Mulder (Zion Lutheran Christian HS/FL) chipped in with 13 points.
“It was just a really frustrating night for us. I thought we did a poor job of defending in the first half and to start the second,” said Head Coach Jimmy Booth. “One of the hardest things to do in basketball is for a player to keep defending when your shots are not falling. I thought we allowed that frustration to get to us too much and it effected our execution. But there’s no time to dwell, we have to move on and get ready for the tournament.”
The men finish the regular season with a 11-7 record in the Western Conference and 14-14 overall record. They will host Lansing Community College in the opening round of the Region XII Tournament on Tuesday, 3/6. Game time is 7:00 pm.
