Muskegon Community College took the first game from 16th ranked Waubonsee Community College 3-0 and then downed St. Clair County Community College 3-2 in their final game of the Raider Challenge. Set scores vs. Waubonsee were 26-24, 25-23, 25-17 and set scores from St. Clair were 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-5.
Statistical leaders for the weekend were Robbie Berg (Montague HS) with 61 kills, 9 aces, 37 digs and 8 blocks, Katie Veihl (Fruitport HS) with 151 assists, 14 kills, 8 aces, 36 digs and 7 blocks and Julie Brown (Whitehall HS) with 35 kills, 10 aces and 10 blocks. Delaney Bennett (Fruitport HS) finished with 40 kills and 7 blocks, Sammi Hockstra (Fruitport HS) had 69 digs and 13 aces and Kennedi Bernia (Grand Haven HS) had 19 aces and 35 digs. Shelby Rasch (Coopersville HS) added 34 digs and 7 aces.
The Jayhawks are now 9-1 in the conference and 15-13 overall. They have now won 6 consecutive matches as they continue with conference play on Tuesday, 10/3 when they travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Game time is 6:30 pm.
