Outdoor Track & Field-Western Michigan University
The Jayhawk Track & Field teams headed to Western Michigan University to compete. On Friday the throwers competed and on Saturday the whole team made the trip. On Friday sisters Gaby and Maya Reeve (White Cloud) battled 40 mph wind gusts while throwing the discus. Both Gaby and Maya had success with the 14th and 15th best marks in the nation. Baseball Home vs. Grand Rapids Community College-DH
The Jayhawk Baseball team dropped two games to Grand Rapids Community College, 12-6 and 13-4. In the opener the Jayhawks used 5 different pitchers with Cody Matuz (Fruitport) getting the start. The Jayhawk Softball team defeated their rivals from Grand Rapids Community College, 8-4 and 17-2 (5 innings). In the opener Brooklyn Galdeen (Oakridge) threw all 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts. She also was 1-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI. The MCC Baseball team lost twice to the Raiders of Grand Rapids Community College, 3-2 (8 innings) and 9-5. In game 1 Christian Hoffman (Heritage) pitched a complete game gem in the loss. The Jayhawk Softball team completed the season sweep of Grand Rapids Community College with two wins on the road, 6-1 and 15-7 (9 innings). Lilli Goodrich (Ludington) got the win in the opener. The Jayhawk golf team finished in 2nd place by shooting a team score of 329 at Egypt Valley in the Grand Rapids Community College Invitational. Ben Zwick (Ludington) shot 77, Mitch Taylor (Mona Shores) and Dylan Lisman (Spring Lake) each carded an 80, Nate McNarland (Mona Shores) shot 91 and Tyler Tallefson (Reeths-Puffer) shot 92.
