20th Annual Women of Accomplishment Celebration on March 5
The Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club, in sponsorship with MCC, will host the 20th Annual Women of Accomplishment breakfast ceremony on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club, 280 W. Webster in downtown Muskegon.
The event, entitled “Three Stories at a Time: Women of Accomplishment,” will honor three Muskegon County women for their accomplishments and lives of service to the community:
- Debra Griffin, community, political, educational and church activist;
- Judy Kell, career worker at county and state levels in Muskegon and throughout Michigan, mentor and provider for people with disabilities; and
- Jackie Hilt, retired teacher, with long time helping involvement with thousands of area young people with special activist interests in Muskegon community heritage
Tickets are $18 person or $130 for a table of eight. Reservation forms may be download at MuskegonWomansClub.org or picked up at the Greater Muskegon Chamber of Commerce, 280 W. Western Ave., in Muskegon. The reservation deadline is Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.
The featured speaker will be Nancy Crandall, former Norton Shores mayor, state representative, and director of the State Office on Aging. Named by the Grand Rapids Business Journal as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan in 2010, Crandall has been a longtime advocate for women’s issues. The first Lakeshore ATHENA recipient in 2005, she helped to found Every Woman’s Place and to establish a Women’s Fitness Camp at the Muskegon Family YMCA.
Music will be provided by Sarah Rinsema-Sybenga of the West Shore Symphony Orchestra.
