The Silver Creek Energy Lab (SCEL) is an applied research center for biofuels. This program is part of MCC’s alternative and renewable energy program offering certificates and degree advancement courses in Wind & Solar. The Silver Creek Energy collaborates with industry, government, and other academic institutions to promote the advancement of biofuels in the west Michigan region.

The biofuels laboratory is located on the former Whitehall, Wastewater Treatment facility and is operated in partnership with Erdman Holdings. This partnership blends industry and academic to produce hands on learning experiences for our students, education for our community, and fuel production for industry.
