A Celebration of American Composers Sunday Afternoon in Overbrook Theater

The MCC College Singers, Collegiates, and College Strings will present “A Celebration of American Composers” on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. in Overbrook Theater.

Under the direction of Thomas Clark, the College Singers will join the College Strings, directed by Philip DeYoung, for five selections: “The Road Not Taken,” words by Robert Frost and music by Randall Thompson; “The Pasture,” words by Robert Frost and music by Randall Thompson; “A Girl’s Garden,” words by Robert Frost and music by Randall Thompson; “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” words by Robert Frost and music by Randall Thompson; and “Choose Something Like a Star,” words by Robert Frost and music by Randall Thompson

The Collegiates, also directed by Thomas Clark, will present the American folk song ”Shenandoah;”  “The Promise of Living,” by Aaron Copland; and both “Free at Last” and “Muddy Water,” from the musical Big River.
