“Avenue Q” Auditions Set for Aug. 24-25 in Overbrook Theater

MCC Center for Theater will begin its 2016-17 season with the presentation of the musical “Avenue Q” on Oct. 12-16 in the Overbrook Theater. Auditions, which are open to all, will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 24-25, at 6 p.m. in the Overbrook Theater.

All interested persons should prepare a song to sing – an accompanist and CD player will be provided. Perusal scripts are available for a two day check out and $5 refundable deposit in Room 166. This Sesame Street inspired ‘adult’ musical was originally conceived by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and received Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. “Avenue Q” is a puppet-filled comedy that follows a group of 20-somethings seeking their purpose in big-city life. Some of the popular song titles from the musical include “It Sucks to Be Me,” “If You Were Gay,” and “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist.”
