College Singers Spring Concert Tonight

The College Singers from Muskegon Community College, along with the Shema Choir from Muskegon’s First Congregational Church, will perform “A Springtime of Music” on Sunday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in Overbrook Theater. The concert is free and open to the public.

Thomas J. Clark, an instructor at MCC, conducts The College Singers. He will be accompanied by MCC instructor Dr. Solee-Clark. The two are co-directors of music at the First Congregational Church.

The College Singers open with “The Word Was God,” “I’m Goin’ Up a Yonder,” “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho,” “You Better Min’ How You Talk,” and “The Awakening.” Lee-Clark will then perform a piano solo of Franz Liszt’s “Ballade no. 2 in B Minor.” The Shema Choir will sing “Hosanna to the Son of David,” “Sanctus, “and “We Are Not Alone.”

Concluding the concert, the College Singers and the Shema Choir will present “We Remember Them,” a tribute to Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day, and finish with “Let Me Fly.”
