MCC and Michigan Works to Host ‘Hot Jobs! Connect’ on Nov. 8

Hot jobs button

Muskegon Community College along with Michigan Works and some local business partners are holding a free informational fair to bring awareness to the community about the “hot” jobs that are in demand.

“Hot Jobs! Connect” takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 3-6 p.m. in Collegiate Hall.

Businesses will discuss their tuition incentives – assistance and/or reimbursement – that they offer to their employees. Michigan Works will address possible funding for training. MCC representatives will talk about available training. Afterward, participants will have an opportunity to visit with the businesses to ask more in-depth questions.

“Today many of the hot jobs in the Muskegon and west Michigan region are related to the health care, advanced manufacturing, construction and information technology areas,” said MCC Director of Admissions Stephanie Briggs. “Many of our local businesses are looking for skilled and trained workers in these particular fields.”

“Hot Jobs! Connect will give you an opportunity to connect to employers, connect to education, and connect to your future. Hear from our business partners about the types of jobs that are either currently available or frequently become available.  Learn how you can train for these careers and even get possible funding for the training.  In some cases all you need is the time and effort to commit to the training.”
