Muskegon Community College will celebrate its 90th year with jazz, food, fun and a silent auction on Founder’s Day, Thursday, Sept. 15.

The community is invited to join the party from 6-8:30 p.m. at Fricano Place, 1050 W. Western Ave. Muskegon Advance tickets are $20 until Saturday, Sept. 10, or $25 at the door and include hors d’oeuvres. Non-alcoholic beverages and a cash bar will be available. All event profits will be used for instructional equipment and supplies for the MCC Arts and Humanities Department.

“Participants can chose their favorite decade and ‘dress to the nines,’” said Foundation for MCC Director Amy Swope.

Music will be provided by some of the best local jazz musicians who annually reunite for their much-anticipated live performance as the Muskegon All-Star Review.

“Founder’s Day is a great opportunity to hear some of the finest elite jazz players from West Michigan perform,” said Daniel M. Meyers, MCC music director and emcee at Founder’s Day. “Their experience playing with some of the greatest jazz artists of our time is part of their background. It’s extremely exciting to hear them play together and to bring that knowledge to the stage.”
