MCC Wind and Jazz Ensembles Perform

The MCC Jazz Ensemble

The Muskegon Community College Wind and Jazz Ensembles will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Overbrook Theater. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Wind Ensemble, led by Daniel M. Meyers, the MCC director of music, will perform five selections: “American Landscape #1,” by Robert W. Smith; “Rhosymedre: Prelude on a Welsh Hymn Tune,” by Ralph Vaughan Williams arr. by Walter Beeler; “Handel In The Strand,” by Percy Grainger arr. by Richard Franko Goldman; “Mountain Thyme,” by Samuel R. Hazo; and “Block M,” by Jerry H. Bilik.

Following a brief intermission, the MCC Jazz Ensemble, directed by MCC adjunct instructor Tim Froncek, will present three selections: “Bari Bari Good,” by Andy Clark; “601 Blues,” by Mark Taylor; and “A Night In Tunisia,” by John “Dizzy” Gillespie and Frank Paparelli arr. by Michael Sweeney.
