MCC presents “Studio on Stage,” the annual showcase of combined theater and dance students’ classroom creations or works in process, on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Overbrook Theater.

All tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the MCC Box Office, 221 S. Quarterline Road, or by calling (231) 777-0324.

This year’s show, whose theme is “About Time,” opens with “The Time Zone” created by the students in the Readers’ Theater course. The rest of the performance will alternate between plays and dances.

The plays were all written by David Ives and come from his scripts for “All in the Timing” and “Time Flies.” The plays being presented include: “Sure Thing,” “Words, Words, Words,” “The Philadelphia,” “Arabian Nights” and “Captive Audience.” They feature MCC students enrolled in Instructor Shelia Wahamaki’s Acting II course.

The MCC Dance Department, led by instructors Melissa Brunsting and Cathy Gamby, will present dance pieces choreographed by both faculty and students. There will be solo, duet, quartet, and group dances. The students have studied ballet, jazz, and choreography and design. MCC’s resident dance company, Muskegon Dance Movement, will also join in the performance.
