The Muskegon Community College Wind and Jazz Ensembles will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Overbrook Theater. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Wind Ensemble, led by Daniel M. Meyers, the MCC director of music, will perform five selections:
- “On A Hymnsong of Philip Bliss” by David R. Holsinger
- “Choreography” by Robert Sheldon
- “Songs of Sailor and Sea” by Robert W. Smith
- “Urban Dances” by Erik Morales
- “The Liberty Bell March” by John Philip Sousa, arrangement by Brion/Schissel
Following a very brief intermission, the MCC Jazz Ensemble, directed by MCC adjunct instructor Tim Froncek, will present three selections:
- “Green Onions” by Booker T. Jones, arrangement by Roger Holmes
- “Making Whoopee” by Walter Donaldson, arrangement by Dave Baduhn
- “Pick Up The Pieces” by Average White Band, arrangement by Mark Taylor
