Wind and Jazz Ensembles Perform April 15

The MCC Wind Ensemble

Muskegon Community College will features its Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble in concert on Wednesday, April 15, in the Overbrook Theater on campus.  The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m.

The MCC Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Daniel M. Meyers, will perform five selections: “October” by Eric Whitacre; “Abide with Me” by William H. Monk, Arr. By Jay Dawson; “Full Tilt” by Richard Saucedo; “The Stars and Stripes Forever March” by John Philip Sousa; and “The Carnival of Venice” by Herbert L. Clarke, featuring alto saxophonist Darwin McMurray.

The MCC Jazz Ensemble, directed by Tim Froncek, will perform “Sidewinder” by Lee Morgan, Arr. By Mark Taylor, “Go Daddy-O” by Scotty Morris, Arr. By John Berry; and “Two-Bone Barbecue” by J. Green.

The performances are dedicated to Foundation for Muskegon Community College donors, whose contributions help advance MCC’s mission to meet student and community needs.
