Student Services Council

Purpose:
            To provide a vehicle to seek opinions, express ideas, identify, investigate, review and recommend policy and procedure matters to the Coordinating Council that relate to the student services of the College.
 
Functions:
Include, but are not limited to:
  1. Consider student life in it’s broadest sense, including enrollment services, counseling and advising, records and registration, financial aid, student life and athletics.
  2. Consider the use and acquisition of facilities and equipment relative to student services objectives of the College.
  3. Review and recommend student services policies, procedures and practices
  4. Engage in whatever research activity is necessary to implement objectives of Student Services Council
  5. Serve as the Colleges hearing and decision making body for the Petitions process
  6. Oversee the development, oversight, and recommendations pertaining to the Enrollment Management Plan
  7. Determine recipients for competitive scholarships brought to student services.
 
Memberships:
A. Voting
One (1) staff member (or designee) from each of the student service areas:
Counseling/Advising
Student Life
Records/Registration
Financial Aid
Athletics
Enrollment Services
One (1) MCCESSU member or designee
One (1) Custodial/Maintenance Association member or designee
Three (3) representatives of the Faculty Association or designees
Three (3) student representatives appointed by Student Government or the Student Life Department
One (1) representative from the library or designee
One (1) representative from Information Technology or designee
Director of Financial Services or designee
Vice President of Student Services or designee
 
B. Non-Voting
            One staff member from the bookstore or designee
            Associate Vice President of Student Services or designee
            One representative of food service. (TBD)
