This information highlights some student services and other useful resources provided by Muskegon Community College. Locations and telephone numbers are provided for your convenience. The Admissions Office processes all college applications. Students applying to enter the Nursing or Respiratory Therapy programs must submit an additional application. Upon acceptance to the college, students receive a matriculation/I.D. card from this office.
Room 204 – 231-777- 0216
A variety of services is offered in the MCC Career Center and is designed to help you discover the career that is just right for you. Understanding who you are, what you like and don't like, and what you value are all important questions you will need to answer if you are going to make quality career choices. The Career Center has several different assessment instruments available to help you with this process, learn about your interests, abilities and skills, values, personality, and preferred job characteristics. Most of these assessments are computerized and can be taken fairly quickly.

This office specializes in off campus full-time and part-time job placement. Services include: current job listings, assistance with resume preparation, job search and interview skills and numerous other employment resources.

The Financial Aid Office makes every effort to assist students who would not otherwise be able to pursue their educational goals. Numerous federal, state and college programs are available to help students meet their financial need. Most of these programs are described in the MCC catalog.
Rooms 104 & 106 – Telephone 231-777- 0250
All student records and course registrations are handled through this office. Copies of a student's academic record and graduation audit may be obtained here. This office has and processes forms for adding and dropping courses, name and/or address changes, withdrawal policies, etc.

Students with disabilities may receive help via a note taker, scribe, reader or interpreter for the deaf. Displaced homemakers may be eligible for extra assistance with tuition, books, childcare and transportation. Check with the Special Services Programs Office for more complete information.

The Testing Center is responsible for all non-instructional testing on-campus. Placement tests, career aptitude and ability tests, competency tests, etc. are available in this center.

Professional librarians are on duty to assist students. Some special services include computer searchers, inter-library loans, individual study carrels and individualized orientation.

The College Success Center offers individualized college credit courses in basic math, pre-algebra, essential reading skills, vocabulary development, speed reading, comprehension, study skills and personalized writing skills.

The number of eligible hours of free tutoring is based on the number of credits carried by a student. Small group Supplemental Instruction (SI) is offered in conjunction with certain beginning level courses.
