Lindsey Townsel, MPA, AT, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer

On behalf of Muskegon Community College and Mercy Health Partners Sports Medicine, I would like to welcome you to Muskegon Community College and Jayhawk Athletics!  Athletic Training at Muskegon Community College is provided by Mercy Health Partners Sports Medicine, and consists of a team of physicians and a Certified Athletic Trainer.  I'd like to share a little information about myself.

I am a native of Muskegon, Michigan and a 2003 graduate of Muskegon High School. I attended Eastern Michigan University where I was a recipient of the Wade McCree Scholarship, Delbert Pearson Athletic Scholarship, Chole Todd Scholarship, & the Wilber Bowen Scholarship. I graduated from EMU in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. I then completed my internship in 2008 at Hackley Sports Medicine and I was assigned to the winter season sports at Muskegon High School. I also graduated in 2010 from the University of Southern Indiana where I was the first graduate assistant athletic trainer completing a two-year position. While at USI I received a Masters degree in Public Administration.

I have been the Licensed Athletic Trainer at Muskegon Community College through Mercy Health Partners Sports Medicine since the fall of 2010.  In the winter of 2011 I also became an adjunct professor for the Physical Education Department at MCC. I am a member of the NATA, a CPR certified instructor, a Board of Certification certified athletic trainer, and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Michigan.

I come from a large family and am the daughter of Carole Townsel.  I have one sister. My hobbies include spending time with family & friends, traveling, sports, movies/plays, museums, zoos, and doing my best to enjoy life to the fullest!

The primary purpose of the athletic training staff is to address the athletic medical needs of all Jayhawk student-athletes through prevention, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and/or illnesses. Our primary concern is to maintain the health and safety of every student-athlete while participating in Muskegon Community College athletics.

Before you can participate in any athletic event (including practice) at Muskegon Community College you MUST print, fully complete and return to your coach the forms found at Required Athletic Forms.  This is essential in order to provide the optimal safety and athletic health care for all Jayhawk student-athletes.  Please feel free to contact us at any time if we may be of any assistance to you.
