10. What does my WebAdvisor error message mean?
WebAdvisor is a Web interface that allows you to access your personal information contained in the administrative database used by Muskegon Community College. The application system that creates this database, Colleague, is the product of Datatel Inc. WebAdvisor consists of the forms and supporting infrastructure to extract and deliver information from this database to your deskstop browser. (back to top)
You will need a Username and Password to access WebAdvisor. This username and password provides you access to your MCC email, the campus network, your SFTP folder, campus lab/library computers, and WebAdvisor. If you have applied for admissions to the College, your Student account will be automatically set up within 24 hours of when your application is processed.
The Username and Password is different depending on if you are a student, faculty, or staff. If you do not know your Username or Password, please click on What’s My Username or Reset My Password. These are also available on the WebAdvisor page. (back to top)
WebAdvisor is set up to allow access for any student the day after the student is admitted or added to the database. However, students who have not taken classes in the past five years must submit a Readmit Form (available by clicking on the link or visiting Enrollment Services) to establish your Username and Password. This may take 2-3 days to process.(back to top)
Students are able to place themselves on the waitlist for some courses that are already full (only one section of the same course at a time.) If you are the next spot on the waitlist and a position in the course becomes available, you will be notified via your MCC email. When you receive this email you must visit WebAdvisor or the Student Services Center to register for the course.
Once you are logged in, from the Students menu tab in WebAdvisor, click on “Manage My Waitlist”. Any classes that you have waitlisted will be shown in the browser window. If a position is available in the waitlisted course, the WAITLIST STATUS column will indicate “Permission to register”. To register, change the ACTION drop down box to R-Register and click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page.PLEASE NOTE: Once you are notified of an available position in a course, you will have 2 days to respond – including weekends. Example: If you are notified on Friday, you MUST take action within 2 days (by Saturday at 11:59 p.m.) If you wait until Monday, the position will no longer be available. (back to top)
If you have received an error message after you have logged in to WebAdvisor, please view the How to Understand WebAdvisor Error Messages and Action Required page. (back to top)
