Waitlist Instructions

MCC offers you the opportunity to be put on a Wait List for the majority of our courses in the event that they are already full when you attempt to register.  Here are a few tips about how to utilize this function.

WAITLIST ADD PERIOD FOR SUMMER 2010 - March 8-May 9, 2010

THINGS YOU NEED TO BE PLACED ON A WAITLIST

  • MUST have the prerequisites for the course
  • MUST have an account in good standing (no past due balances with MCC)
  • MUST be in good academic standing (not on academic probation)

STEPS TO PLACING YOURSELF ON A WAITLIST

  1. Login to WebAdvisor
  2. Attempt to Register for the course. The class will appear on your Preferred Sections list.
  3. Choose RG-Register to register for the class.
  4. Click Submit
  5. If the class is closed, go back to your Preferred Sections list and choose WL-Add to Waitlist in the Action column.
  6. Click Submit
  7. NOTE: All waitlist additions must be submitted AT LEAST three days prior to the start date of the class. The waitlist is no longer valid on the first day of class.

CHECKING YOUR WAITLIST STATUS

There are TWO ways you can be aware of your waitlist status.

  1. CHECK YOUR EMAIL DAILY! When a position becomes available in a class with a waitlist, the first/next person on the waitlist is notified VIA MCC EMAIL. Once a student has been given Permission to Register, he/she will have TWO DAYS to visit WebAdvisor and Register for the class via Manage My Waitlist (see next section.) If the student fails to check the email or fails to register within the two day time period, the permission WILL EXPIRE and the student will NOT be able to register.
  2. Go to MANAGE MY WAITLIST FREQUENTLY. Login to WebAdvisor and click on Manage My Waitlist to check the status of any classes that you are waitlisted on.  If you have been given Permission to Register, the Waitlist Status will indicate that you have been given permission.

REGISTERING FOR A WAITLIST CLASS ONCE PERMISSION IS GRANTED

Once you have been given permission via email or by Managing Your Waitlist, you will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Login to WebAdvisor
  2. Click on Manage My Waitlist
  3. Locate the Status dropdown box for the class(es) for which you've been given permission.
  4. Click on the dropdown box and change the status to RG-Register.
  5. Click Submit
  6. The next page should indicate that you are now registered for that course.
  7. NOTE: If you are registering AFTER payment due date, you MUST pay for your class immediately to avoid being dropped from all classes.
