Mission and Goals
The mission of the Muskegon Writers’ Center is to foster and celebrate good contemporary writing.
To this end, it will pursue the following goals:
- Invite published writers to read in Muskegon and publicize and subsidize these readings
- Sponsor and/or judge local writing contests for students and adults
- Financially support Muskegon Community College’s literary magazine
- Create and sponsor other activities that encourage good writing in its many forms: poetry, fiction, non-fiction prose, drama, and experimental genres
