THE ADVENTURES OF LARRY, CAT IN SPACE

This program takes place in the not too distant future, when we have a base on the moon. A cat becomes a stow-a-way on board a rocket, attempting to reach its owner who now lives on the moon. A good program for young children—introducing concepts such as space travel, lunar geology, and living conditions on the moon. This program is followed by a brief sky tour. Program running time is 40-minutes.

THE SECRET OF THE CARDBOARD ROCKET

In this program a brother and sister take a voyage of imagination through the solar system using a cardboard rocket. This program is excellent for young groups learning about planets and there environments. Program running time is 45-minutes.

STAR TRAVELERS

In this program, two young campers spend a night under the stars where they meet an alien named Edna. With her and a slightly insane talking computer, they take a voyage through the universe where they learn about planets, stars, black holes, galaxies, and constellations. Program running time is 45-minutes.

STAR STEALERS

In this program two galactic gum shoes team up to find out who’s been stealing the stars. After a brief look at constellations that can be seen from the Earth, they take off on an adventure. Along the way they’ll see how stars are born, discover the variety of ways stars die, and find out first hand what happens when you get too close to a black hole. Join us to crack a cosmic case with the “Star Stealers.” Program running time is 45- minutes.

BEAR TALES (AND OTHER GRIZZLY STORIES)

Visitors will join in on a family camping trip under the stars and listen to Grandpa Ben’s lively stories about the night sky. The audience learns of the mythology, constellations, and stars with emphasis on the stars of Spring. The result is a fun and educational show that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, all year long. Program running time is 45-minutes.

RUSTY ROCKET’S LAST BLAST

This program intended for eyes 6-9 looks at how rockets work, and some of the rocket types that have been used by the United States and Russia. The sky show takes a tour of the solar system recalling various spacecraft launched by these two nations over the last 30 years. A discussion of what was learned by these missions is also presented. Program running time is 40-minutes.

THE VOYAGER ENCOUNTERS

“The Voyager Encounters” celebrates the highly successful Voyager space mission to the gas giant planets of our solar system. Narrated by Patrick Stewart of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, This program takes the planetarium visitors to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and beyond as the continuing voyages of the Voyager space craft are explored in this visually spectacular program. Program running time is 45-minutes.

STARLIT NIGHTS

This planetarium program intended for adults is devoted to stars and mythology of the night sky. The emphasis is placed on the stars visible during spring, summer, and autumn. Beyond what is visible to the unaided eye, some of the more important telescope and binocular objects are presented. Program running time is 40 minutes. Images of the Infinite Since its deployment from the space shuttle discovery in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has provided us with spectacular awe-inspiring images and has enriched our understanding of the universe. This sky show highlights the history and top science findings of the telescope, as well as taking the planetarium audience on an unforgettable tour through the solar system, the galaxy, and to the limits of the known universe. This program will be followed by a brief tour of the celestial highlights of the winter sky. Program length is 40-minutes.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

This sky show good for most all ages 8 thru adult, examines the universe of objects visible from the back yard. Constellations, planets, and deep sky objects are explored as viewed thru small telescopes, binoculars, and with the unaided eye. Program length is 40-minutes.

THE VIOLENT UNIVERSE

Narrated by the late actor Vincent Price, this sky show takes the audience on a tour of “things that go bump in the night”. After a brief tour of the winter night sky, the program turns from tranquillity to the turbulence of our universe. Topics covered include the deaths of stars, solar storms, planets, Black holes, and the Big Bang--the fiery birth of the universe itself. Program length is 45-minutes.

WORLDS IN MOTION

Most people know how long a year is, but few consider how far or how fast the earth travels in its orbit around the Sun, or our motion in the galaxy. From the microscopic world of electrons zipping around the nucleus of an atom, to our galaxy zooming across the universe, this sky show explores how and why worlds move the way they do. The program briefly addresses Newton’s first law of motion, demonstrates basic celestial mechanics, and provides real life exampled of how everything is constantly moving. Discover how many different ways the Earth moves in space, and how there is no such thing as a total couch potato. Program length is 45-minutes.

HUBBLE VISION II

Since 1990 the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has performed wonderfully giving us exciting new views of the universe, as well as expanding our knowledge of previously know phenomena.  Designed for a 15 year mission, the telescope has become an aging legend that was nearly allowed to die this year.  "Hubble Vission II" is the sequel to "Hubble Vision"  a sky show we had here in the past.  This sky show explores the many exciting finds and images made by the telescope in the past 15 years, and offers a vision of what the future might yet hold.  Program length is 40-minutes.
