Kathy was a previous adjunct instructor at MCC and began as a full time instructor in January 2005.  She has over twenty five years of clinical experience in many areas of nursing practice and concurrently works two days per week as a staff nurse.  She graduated from Grand Valley State University with her BSN in 1987 and received her MSN from Michigan State University in 2001.   She teaches physical assessment, advanced medical surgical, and mental health nursing.  She holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Pam is Department Chairperson and Director of the Nursing Program at Muskegon Community College. She holds a Master of Nursing degree from Michigan State University, is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE), and also is a site visitor for ACEN. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She also holds a Bachelor in Nursing from the University of Michigan and a diploma in Nursing from Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Pam's areas of specialty include nursing care of families throughout the lifespan, curriculum development, and mental health. She has been a faculty member since 1993. She also has previous teaching experience at Southwestern Michigan Community College and Grand Valley State University. Pam is a member of American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners, and holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and Michigan Specialty Certification.

Shae is a former Muskegon Community College Nursing Program graduate and currently holds a Masters of Nursing degree with an education specialty focus from Ferris State University.  She holds a current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license and a Certified Nurse Aide Train-the-Trainer certification, as well as an Interim Occupational Teaching Certificate (IOC).  She has been an adjunct faculty member since 2008 and joined MCC as a full-time faculty member in 2014.  

Shae has experience working in various hospital nursing settings, outpatient clinics, pain management, wound care, home care, career and technical education, and auditing.

Mary Kaufman has been a full-time member of the nursing faculty since 2001. She was born in Stanley, Wisconsin and received her ADN at North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D. She earned her BSN at Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota and MSN at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Mary's areas of clinical expertise are maternal-child nursing, intercultural communication, and acute postoperative pain. She has practiced as a registered nurse in five states.

Christina has 15 years experience in Obstetrics and Pediatrics. She is a graduate of MCC's Associate Degree Nursing Program, completed her BSN at Ferris and her MSN at Michigan State University. Chris is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and works collaboratively with a local OB/GYN. She teaches primarily in her areas of specialty--maternity, pediatrics, family, and mental health and holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and Michigan Specialty Certification. She also is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Susan Frazier MSN, RN, CNE

Susan Frazier joined the MCC Nursing Faculty in 2010. Since beginning her career as an RN in 1977, she has worked as a clinical nurse, clinical educator, and as Director/Manager of Education. Susan’s areas of clinical expertise include critical care, emergency department, medical-surgical units, radiology, and worked as a float for 5 years, which included assignments on all nursing units.  

Susan earned a Diploma in Nursing from Harper-Grace School of Nursing, a BSN Degree from Ferris State University, and a MSN from Ferris State University. She holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and is a certified instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and a Pediatric Life Support (PALS).  She also is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Barbara Goudie MSN, RN, CNE

Barbara Goudie joined the nursing faculty at Muskegon Community College in January 2011, from Huron School of Nursing in Cleveland Ohio. At Huron School of Nursing she was the course coordinator of the Maternal/Child nursing course. Her area of specialty is women’s health and maternity nursing. She practiced as a midwife in the United Kingdom and worked in the department of gynecology at the Cleveland Clinic.  

Barb trained as a registered nurse and midwife at the Queen Elizabeth School of Nursing in Birmingham, England. She obtained a BA degree from the Open University in Milton Keynes England, and an MSN from Grand Valley State University. She holds a current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Michigan and the United Kingdom and is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Beth came to MCC in 2011 with a diverse clinical background. Since receiving her BSN at Wayne State University in 1986 she has worked in urban and rural settings serving medical, surgical, oncology, and home care patients. She has been certified in oncology, chemotherapy, and medical-surgical nursing. Prior to coming to the college she worked as a hospital nursing educator with a focus on electronic medical records. She earned her MSN at Michigan State and holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.

Jodie graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree from Muskegon Community College in 1989 and continued on to Grand Valley State University where she received her Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing in 1991. She's had a varied business career, including working with several aspects of the medical field. She has been the administrative assistant for the Nursing Department since 2001.

Sandy Osborne has been a full-time member of the nursing faculty since 1984.  Prior to 1984, she taught part-time at Muskegon Community College and worked part-time as a staff nurse at Hackley Hospital.  While at Hackley Hospital, she worked on a Surgical Unit, Critical Care Unit and in the Operating Room.  Medical-Surgical nursing is her specialty although she also enjoys Pediatrics.  Currently, she is still employed at Hackley Hospital as a relief shift manager.

Sandy earned a BSN from Northern Michigan University in 1974 and a MSN from Grand Valley State University in 1992.  She holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license and is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE) .

Chris Patterson MSN, RN, CNE

Chris Patterson has been a full-time member of the faculty since 2006. Before moving to Michigan, she was a full-time faculty member for the associate degree program at Texarkana College in Texarkana, Texas. She has worked on surgical units, telemetry units, and a cardiology step-down unit. She has been a staff nurse for an orthopedic practice, a case manager for Hospice of Michigan, and a unit manager in long-term care. She teaches basic medical-surgical nursing.

Chris earned her AAS and BSN degrees from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. She completed her MSN from the University of Phoenix with an emphasis on nursing education. She holds current Registered Nursing (RN) Licenses in Texas and Michigan and is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

Heather was a previous adjunct instructor at MCC for several years and began as a full-time instructor in January 2013. She has clinical experience in oncology, med-surg, ER, and critical care.  She also concurrently works one day per week as a staff nurse in critical care. She graduated from West Shore Community College with her ADN, received her BSN from University of Phoenix, and her MSN from Michigan State University. She currently teaches medical-surgical and pediatric nursing . She holds a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License and is trauma nursing certified.

She also is certified through the National League for Nursing as a Nurse Educator (CNE).
