Career Pathways
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than 12,000 career options to consider. An effective way to assist students navigate and maintain a focused track is through Career Pathways. Career Pathways are six broad groupings of careers that have similar characteristics and whose requirements call for many common interests, strengths and competencies. The groupings encompass the entire spectrum of career options, providing opportunities for all students and all ability levels regardless of educational requirements.
Those six pathways are:

Arts & Communications
Careers related to the humanities, the performing, visual, literary and media arts. A successful candidate for a career in this pathway is imaginative and innovative, would possess strong communication skills and value creativity.

Business, Management, Marketing & Technology
Careers related to all aspects of business and marketing. A successful candidate for a career in this pathway possess leadership skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently or as a team and likes to work with numbers or ideas.

Engineering and Manufacturing and Industrial Technology
Careers related to technologies needed to design, develop, install or maintain physical systems. Working with tools, equipment and other kinds of machinery is important to people in this career pathway. A successful candidate for this pathway possesses strong analytical skills and the desire to work in a hands-on environment.

Health Sciences
Careers related to the promotion of health as well as the treatment of injuries and diseases. These include research, prevention, treatment and related health technologies. A successful candidate for this career pathway must demonstrate ease in working with others, an interest in the human body, and a genuine caring for the wwll being of people and/or animals.

Human Services
Careers related to helping people improve their life physically, socially or emotionally. A successful candidate for a career in this pathway possesses strong communication skills, values interaction with others, demonstrates under standing and cooperativeness and excels in problem solving.

Natural Resources and Agriscience
Careers related to natural resources, agriculture, and the environment. A successful candidate in this pathway working outdoors and demonstrates an interest in the care of environment.
