Katherine Tosa
Katherine Tosa has been teaching at MCC since 1989. She teaches Western Civilization: Prehistory to 1500 (Hist 101), Western Civilization: 1500 to the Present (Hist 102), American History: Post Civil War to the Present (Hist 202), Beginning German (Ger 101, 102 and 103), and Intermediate German (Ger 201 and 202), and International Cultural Studies (ICS 101 GER).
Ms. Tosa is interested in internationalizing the curriculum and bringing the "Global Community" closer to Muskegon. She is the International Coordinator at MCC, the Chairperson of Global Awareness Festival , and actively involved with the Stuttgart, Germany exchange program. Ms. Tosa is Past President of The American Association of Teachers of German - Michigan and current coeditor of their newsletter.
She received her B.A. in History and German from Southern Illinois University and a M.A. in History from Southern Illinois University. Ms. Tosa spent a year studying at Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, Germany and has taught a Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland and Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Illinois.
