Transfer Degrees

Associate in Science and Arts (ASA) – General Degree

The Michigan Transfer Agreement Associate in Science and Arts (ASA) degrees are effective as of Fall 2014.

  • A minimum of 62 credit hours, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, is required for the ASA Degree.
  • MCC and the Michigan Transfer Agreement require a “C” or better in individual courses used to meet ASA and MTA requirements. These courses are shown in bold type below.
  • Courses numbered below 100 do not count toward the ASA.
  • Any course can be used only ONCE in any category.
  • Classes that may be used to fulfill MTA requirements are in bold below and require “C” or better (for students completing the MTA only)
General Education Requirements  (Minimum – 35 credits)
Communication – 6 credits with grades of “C” or better

Computer Competency
MCC’s Computer Competency Test or CIS class with a “C” or better. Effective for students beginning in Fall 2016, computer competency must be met by CIS 110 or CIS 120A competency test, or by passing a three-credit CIS class with a “C” or better.
