Muskegon Community College won twice over Cleary University JV, 8-1 and 21-3 (5 innings).
In Game one the Jayhawks scored 5 runs in the 4th to grab the lead and coasted to the victory. The Jayhawks used a total of 5 pitchers in the game with Danny Medlock (Warren Mott HS) getting the win. Josh Hilliard (Coleman HS) was 2-3 with 2 RBI. Jarret Prins (Grand Haven HS) and Gage Andrews (Gaylord St. Mary HS) also had 2 RBI each.
Game two saw the Jayhawks score 3 runs in the 1st inning, 8 in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd and 6 in the 4th for the run away win. Hunter Nelson (Standish Sterling HS) earned the victory with 3 innings of work, giving up no runs on no hits and striking out 3. Jared Schwartz (Grand Haven HS) and Ben Garcia (North Muskegon HS) both pitched out of the bullpen in relief. MCC collected 12 hits and 10 walks led by Jake Conklin (Holland Cavalry Christian HS), Tommy McCullough (Allendale HS) and Collin Houseman (Reeths-Puffer HS) each with 2 hits.
MCC is now 2-0 in conference play and 14-4 overall. Next up is the rescheduled game at home vs. conference foe Glen Oakes Community College on Tuesday, 3/26. The doubleheader starts at 2:00 pm.
