Muskegon Community College hosted Glen Oaks Community College in a rescheduled doubleheader and won both ends, 8-1 and 7-3.
In game one Branden Posky (Livonia Stevenson HS) worked the complete game for the victory, giving up 1 run on 1 hit over seven innings and striking out six. Tyus Beach (East Kentwood HS) was a perfect 4-4 at the plate with 2 RBI. Colin Houseman (Reeths Puffer HS) was 2-4 and Jake Soules (Troy HS) tallied 3 RBI.
In game two the Jayhawks scored a run in the first, then added runs in each inning while limiting Glen Oaks to 3 runs total. Sean Casey (Grand Haven HS) was the winning pitcher for MCC with 3.2 innings of work, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out 4. Jeremy Karthan (Brunswick HS/Ohio) worked 3.1 innings in relief out of the bullpen to earn the save. The offense rolled with 12 hits highlighted by Tommy McCullough (Allendale HS) who was 3-for-3 at the plate. Tyus Beach (East Kentwood HS), Jon Henry (Ajax ON Canada) and Jake Conklin (Holland Cavalry Christian HS) all added 2 hits each.
MCC improves to 4-0 in conference play and 16-4 overall. They return to action on Friday, 3/29 when they host Kalamazoo Valley Community College in a conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
