Bowling hosted by Jackson College at University Lanes

Women finish 3rd, men finish 6th in opening match.

The Muskegon Community College men’s & women’s bowling teams opened their season with a match at University Lanes in Albion hosted by Jackson College. The format was 3 regular games, 8 Baker games and total pins. There were 8 colleges in the competition.

The MCC women’s team finished in 3rd place. Returning sophomore All-American Meagan Batka (Grand Haven HS) earned top awards for high game with a 230 and high series with 149-200-230 for 579 total. Freshman Morgan Foster (Oakridge HS) rolled a 197, freshman Lauren May (Ravenna HS) rolled a 178 and sophomore Jolene Miller (Fruitport HS) rolled a 177.

The MCC men’s team finished in 6th place, led by freshman Brady Bowen (Orchard View HS) with a 588 series and freshman Jonathan Garland (Grand Haven HS) with a 574 series.

The next match is the Jayhawk Great Lakes Classic at Sherman Bowling Center on Friday, January 10 with bowling beginning at 10:00 am.
