The Muskegon Community College Cross Country teams welcomed Muskegon area high schools Saturday morning for the GMA Cross Country event, before hosting 14 men’s teams and 9 women’s teams, along with many unattached runners, for the Jayhawk Invitational at University Park Golf Course.

Kyler Dean (Vicksburg) continued to impress with another school record on the way to a 4th place overall finish with a time of 24:56.40. The team finished in 9th place overall with scoring from Kaden Hainer (Montague), Ryan Rymal (Spring Lake), Connor Lodholtz (Fruitport) and Isaac Easter (West Ottawa).

For the women’s team, it was Grace Lockhart (Reeths-Puffer) with the top finish for MCC at 20:51, followed by Neva Hundt (Whitehall), Daisy Haack (Fruitport) and Sierra Vanderwier (Fruitport).

MCC will compete on Saturday, 10/29 at the MCCAA Championship and NJCAA Regionals.
