The Track & Field Teams competed at the Hillsdale College Wide Track Open on Saturday, 1/28.

In the men’s events, Kyler Dean (Vicksburg) finished 3rd in the 3,000m run in a time of 9:07.51, good for a new school record. Nacari Miles (Muskegon) finished 5th of 17 entries in the 60-meter dash while Zach Pray (Fruitport) came in 7th in the 200m dash. In the 400m dash, Isaac Easter (West Ottawa) placed 6th and Jerry Mejia (West Ottawa) 9th. Easter also placed 4th in the long jump and 9th in the 60-meter hurdles finals. Gavin Anderson (Oakridge) placed 4th in the pole vault with a vault of 4.15m  which was both a personal best and a new school record.

In the women’s meet Lainey Canan (Zeeland East) finished 9th and Neva Hundt (Whitehall) was 13th in the 400m dash. Faith Clark (Fruitport) finished 12th in the 800m run and missed the national qualifying mark by 3 seconds.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Friday 2/3 at Aquinas College for the Grand Rapids Hall of Fame meet.
