Muskegon Community College beat the Vikings from Glen Oaks Community College by a score of 85-75.
A bit of a slow start in the first half had the Jayhawks down 33-34 at halftime. The second half was much more efficient for them, scoring 52 points. Along with that offensive outburst, the Jayhawks defense held Glen Oaks to 40.2% shooting from the field and 23% from threes. MCC eventually was able to pull away towards the end of the game. They were able to get some key stops and knocked down their free throws. All five starters scored in double figures for the Jayhawks. Josh Smith tallied 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Travez Nyx also added a double double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Kylan Shipp had another 20 point game, along with his 6 rebounds.
MCC is now 7-9 in conference play and 13-12 overall. They return to action with a Monday night tilt at home vs. Mid Michigan Community College at 7:30 pm.
