The Jayhawks dropped a game on the road to the Jackson College Jets by a score of 88-76.
MCC grabbed an early lead in the first half but Jackson was able to forge ahead late in the half for a 41-39 lead. The second half was a replay of the first with the teams trading leads throughout but it was the Jets who were able to pull away at the end of the very competitive game.
All five starters for the Jayhawks scored in double figures. Kylan Shipp (Detroit Northwestern HS) led MCC with 19 points, Simon Obi (Romulus HS) recorded a double double of 15 points and 10 boards and Travez Nyx (Wayne Memorial HS) also finished with a double double of 11 points and 15 rebounds.
MCC is now 4-5 in conference play and 9-9 overall. They return to action Monday, 2/4 with a makeup game at home vs. Lake Michigan College. Tip off is 7:30 pm.
