Muskegon Community College dropped a 99-85 decision to the visiting Flying Dutch of of Hope College.
In the first half Hope shot a staggering 67% from the field and 57% from the 3 point line and they went into halftime up 54-42. MCC went cold in the second half shooting just 31% while Hope stayed hot. Jacarius Scott (Muskegon HS) led the Jayhawks with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Simon Obi (Romulus HS) finished with 19 points and Cade Walberg (South Bend Washington HS) had 15 points. MCC also got double digit scoring from guards Randy Frison III (Romulus HS) and Jalen Nix (Detroit East English Village) with 12 and 10 points respectively.
“We didnt deserve to win,” said Head Coach Jimmy Booth. “We didnt play hard enough, defend well enough, or play together until 3/4 of the game was over and by then it was too late with the way they were shooting the ball. Unacceptable in every way.”
MCC is now 2-3 on the season. They return to action on Saturday, 12/1 at 3:00 pm when they host Oakland Community College.
