Muskegon Community College beat Lake Michigan College 89-83 in a game that was postponed from last week due to the weather conditions.
Scoring was hard to come by for the Jayhawks in the first half but were able to hold a 36-33 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Jayhawks were able to get back in rhythm on the offensive end, scoring 53 points. They did, however, allowed 50 points in the half as well. Fortunately, they were able to come out with a much needed win. Josh Smith was Jayhawks leading scorer with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Kylan Shipp added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assist. Jalen Nix was a spark off the bench with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
MCC is now 5-5 in Western Conference play and 10-9 overall. Next up is a home game vs. Ancilla College on Wednesday, 2/6 at 7:30 pm.
