Muskegon Community College dropped a 96-93 decision to #12 ranked Schoolcraft College at home.
The game was a battle from the opening tip with both teams trading momentum. Schoolcraft had a 48-46 lead going into the lockeroom at the half.The second half started with both teams scoring seemingly scoring at will. With 5 minutes left in the game the Jayhawks were up 84-83, but they were hurt by careless turnovers and missed free throws and a 40 footer at the buzzer didn’t connect.
Josh Smith (Lansing Waverly HS) scored a career high 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Jacarius Scott (Muskegon HS) also played well, scoring 20 points and pulling down 8 boards. Travez Nyx (Wayne Memorial HS) added 12 points.
MCC is now 2-2 on the young season. They return to action with a home contest on Tuesday, 11/27 vs. Hope College JV. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
