The Jayhawk Men’s Basketball team used balanced scoring to defeat the Alma College JV team at home 93-66.
MCC held a 10 point lead for most of the first half and they went into the locker room up 42-32. In the second half the Jayhawks played tough defense, out-rebounded Alma and eventually opened up their largest lead for the comfortable 93-66 victory. Jacob Mueller (Charlevoix) saw his first action in a year as he returned from a knee injury. He contributed 18 minutes and scored 7 points. Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) continued to carry the scoring load with a game high 28 points and 6 steals. Joe Russau (Wyoming Lee) had a double double with 18 points and 14 rebounds and freshman Andrew Spyke (Fruitport) came off the bench and added 14 points and 6 boards. Ben Clark (Potter’s House) grabbed 10 rebounds and added 5 assists.
MCC is now 4-5 on the season. They travel to Flint, MI to play in the Mott Roundball Classic vs. Schoolcraft College on Friday, 12/15 at 5:00 pm before taking on the host team on Saturday, 12/16 at 5:00 pm.
