The Jayhawk Men’s Basketball team dropped a hard fought game to Alpena Community College at home, 73-69.
MCC jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first half but they were not able to build on the lead. Alpena forced some turnovers that got them on track and they took a 41-29 lead into the locker room at the half. MCC outscored Alpena in the 2nd half and they were able to cut the lead to 3 points with 8 seconds to play but they could not get the equalizer. Jacob Mueller (Charlevoix) scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Benjamin Clark (Potter’s House) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
MCC stands at 4-5 in conference play and 8-14 overall. They host rival Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday, 2/14 at 7:30 pm.
