The Jayhawk Men’s Basketball team dropped a tight game to the visiting Bay College Norse by a score of 76-72.
Both teams struggled to score in the first half with Bay taking a 36-29 edge into the locker room at the half. The Jayhawks picked up their offense in the second half, outscoring the Norse 43-40 and using a run to take the lead with about 7 minutes left in the game, but Bay prevailed in the end. MCC’s scoring was spread out with Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) leading the way with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Darius Williams (Orchard View) finished with 14 points and 2 steals and Ben Clark (Potter’s House) just missed a double double with 12 points, 9 boards and 5 assists.
The Jayhawks evened their Northern Conference record at 1-1 and they are 5-10 overall. The travel to take on rival Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday, 1/24 at 7:30 pm.
