The Jayhawk Men’s Soccer team defeated Lake Michigan College by a score of 4-1.
MCC opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Guilherme Santerelli (Brazil) serviced the ball across the 18 yard box and Adrian Tamargo (West Ottawa) was there to score. That was the only goal of the first half, but 3 minutes into the second half the Red Hawks would score off a mistake in the midfield to tie the game at 1-1. However, 2 minutes after that, the Jayhawk’s Ibrahima Ndiaye (Mona Shores) scored on a penalty shot. Ndiaye connected again in the 71st minute with an assist to Rukundo Emmanuel (Innovation Central). Ryan Laus (Fruitport) closed out the scoring with a top corner goal in the last 5 minutes of play.
MCC is now 1-2-1 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall. Next up is a home contest vs. Marian University’s Ancilla. Kick off is 4:00 pm on Wednesday, 10/5 at Muskegon Catholic Central.
