The MCC Men’s Soccer team defeated Lake Michigan College in a steady rain, 10-1.
The Jayhawks scored first with a goal from Adrian Tamargo (West Ottawa) early in the first half off a cross from Rukundo Emmanuel (Innovation Central) to go up 1-0. Lake Michigan then missed a few chances to tie up the game as the first half came to a close with MCC leading 1-0. The Jayhawks exploded for 9 goals in the second half with Jake Wright (UK) picking up 4 goals and an assist. Tamargo added 2 goals to go with his earlier assist and MCC also got goals from Ryan Laus (Fruitport), Ibrahim Ndiaye (Mona Shores) and Isaac Saavedra (Dowagiac Union).
“It was a great performance for the players up front to finish the chances we created,” said Head Coach Sam Felicioni. “Also, it was a great game for Jake Wright who scored 4 goals and 1 assist after coming back from injury only a week ago”.
MCC is now 2-2-2 in conference play and 7-3-2 overall. They travel to Jackson College to take on the Jets on Saturday, 10/15 with kickoff at 3:00 pm.
