Outdoor Track & Field-Jack Shaw Invitational

Final

The MCC Track & Field teams competed over the course of 2 days at the Jack Shaw Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University.

MCC represented itself well with 13 top 10 finishes against the likes of Notre Dame, Chicago State, WMU, Ohio State and a hand full of D2 and NAIA teams.

The MCC team had a strong showing in the field events with Isaac Easter (West Ottawa) finishing 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 6.39m and Gavin Anderson (Oakridge) also finishing 3rd in the pole vault with a vault of 4.20m. Peyton Dobben (Reeths-Puffer) was 4th in the javelin, Karleigh Jeffries (Whitehall) was 7th in the discus and Laney Canan was 7th in the long jump.

Zach Pray (Fruitport) was the top finisher on the track with a 3rd place finish in both the 400m, and the 200m. The men’s 4x400m relay team also finished 3rd overall, Spencer Anderson (Oakridge) finished 6th in the 400m hurdles and 8th in the 110m hurdles, Isaac Easter was 4th in the 400m hurdles and 9th in the 110m hurdles and Kyler Dean returned from an injury with a 7th place finish in the 1500m.

Next up the Jayhawks travel to compete at the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational and Siena Heights University on Friday, 4/14.
