The MCC Track & Field team opened the outdoor season with a meet at Michigan State University.
The team got strong performances from Payton Dobben (Reeths-Puffer) who finished 8th in the finals of the javelin throw with a toss of 38.12m. Zach Pray (Fruitport) finished the 400m in 3rd place in 49.83 and was a 5th place finisher in the 200m with a time of 22.31. Isaac Easter (West Ottawa) finished 4th in the long jump with a leap of 6.69m and 6th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.28. For the women’s team, Neva Hundt (Whitehall) entered the 800m as an unseeded runner, then won her heat and finished 10th overall with a time of 2:41.
Next up for the team is a trip to compete in the Jack Shaw Invitational at Western Michigan University on Friday and Saturday, 4/7-4/8.
