The Jayhawk women’s basketball team traveled to Plymouth, IN and defeated the Ancilla Chargers 88-33 in the second round of conference play.
The Jayhawks jumped out to a quick lead and were never seriously challenged by an undermanned Ancilla team. MCC led 25-7 after the first quarter, 49-15 at the half and 65-25 after the third.
Mariah Pringle (Brethren HS) led the Jayhawks with her season high of 18 points. Kacy Jeffries (Whitehall HS) and Tanae Hamer (Hudsonville HS) each had 15 points, Hamer also contributed 7 assists. Nia Miskel (Muskegon HS) had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds and Trina Lewis (Reeths-Puffer HS) also had 14 points and pulled 9 rebounds.
“I’m very happy with how our team played tonight,” said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “We got off to a great start and didn’t let up.”
MCC is now 9-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play. On Friday, 3/26, they travel to Alpena Community College for their next game, tip off is at 5:30 pm.
