Muskegon Community College defeated the Aquinas College JV women 83-56.
The Jayhawks came out with a lot of intensity but ran into foul trouble in the second quarter. Despite the challenge the team took a 44-28 lead into the locker room at the half. The second half was all MCC as they cruised to the non-conference victory. Elysia Mattos (Reeths-Puffer HS) and Delaney Bolles (Reeths-Puffer HS) led the team with 20 points each. Mariah Pringle (Brethren HS) was also in double digits with 13 points.
“It was a great balanced effort with our team tonight. I was very happy with our offensive performance,” said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “83 points is the largest point total we have had this year. Hopefully we can build on this and use this momentum in our last nonconference game on Saturday.”
MCC is 7-1 overall with a home game vs. Delta College scheduled for Saturday, 12/15. Tip off is 1:00 pm.
