The Jayhawk Women’s Basketball team lost a heartbreaker at Delta College, 69-68 to start the second half of the conference season.

MCC played the game down 2 players due to injury and they started slow with Delta outscoring them 22-12 in the 1st quarter. The 2nd and 3rd quarter the two teams were virtually even and the Jayhawks held a 26-18 advantage in the 4th but they just couldn’t get over the hump. “The close games always hurt more,” said Coach Jason Cooper. “We just didn’t have our “A” game tonight but we will learn from this and get better.” Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) had a monster night with 37 points and 11 rebounds and Maiya Hill (GR Union) added 10 points and 3 rebounds.

MCC is now 5-3 in conference play and 11-10 overall. They will host Alpena Community College on Saturday, 2/10 with tip off at 1:00 pm.
