The Jayhawk Women’s Basketball team defeated Kalamazoo Valley Community College on the road 77-46.

MCC has battled illness and injury but they were able to jump out to a 17-6 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and they held a 27-18 lead at the half. They put up 27 points in the 3rd quarter and 23 more in the 4th as they cruised to the easy victory. “I’m very excited for the win tonight,” said Coach Jason Cooper. “You never know how a young team will respond after a loss but we continually got better as the game went on. This is a game that we can build on”. Four players finished in double digit scoring led by Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Arrionna Williams (Reeths-Puffer) finished with 18 points, McKena Wilson (Calvary Christian) had 17 points and Ali Phillips (Mona Shores) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

MCC is now 4-2 on the season. They return to the court on Saturday, 12/2 when they host Southwestern Michigan College at 1:00 pm.
